Fleet Management Systems are not dedicated to a certain type of vehicle – they have to operate in all vehicles of a fleet. Therefore a set of preselected vehicles (Mercedes, MAN, Scania and Iveco) need to be investigated concerning electrical installation, mounting locations and available data on the FMS interface (CAN bus).
Especially the data in a certain vehicle is of major importance for the development of new DAF services. The vehicle-specific mounting information will be used as input for proper dealer documentation.
Functieomschrijving
After a proper preparation the hands-on investigation phase can start – this phase has to deliver answers on how the onboard unit of the DAF Telematics System can be build into the different kinds of vehicles, how the electrical connections can be realized and which FMS data is available. In addition to this necessary configuration changes for the onboard unit need to be figured out. Finally all collected information for each vehicle has to be summarized and reported to the DAF Telematics team and the After Sales department.
Functieprofiel
The candidate for this project should have the following skills:
• HBO level, Stage for 3 to 6 months (depending on skills)
• Basic knowledge about electrical vehicle architectures
• Extended knowledge about vehicle data interfaces – CAN J1939 Data Layer
• Optional: knowledge about vehicle diagnosis – KWP2000
• structured way of working
• Good communication skills
• Languages: Dutch and English fluent
This project gives an interesting inside into the basics of Telematics and the opportunity to learn a lot about different vehicles types.
